I learned a lot "what not to do" and some "what to do" this go around.
I put 2 coats of gloss varnish on this and the first one. I'm thinking I will get some matte finish. This painting looks real good glossy, but Im sure all my painting will not need to be glossy.
When I get the frames figured out I will take another picture to share.
I started the my 3rd painting. Im at a stopping point for it to dry and to see how it looks. I may or may not add more to it. So look for that post coming.
We will end up with more paintings than wall space real fast. I would like to just switch paintings out from time to time. Which leads to how to store them without damaging them.
I found a video of someone making bags of velvet. I may try that. I will post about it when I get there.
These first paintings already have homes.
I asked my work if I can hang paintings there as well. That will be another place I can sto...Display them.
Signature! I'm not a big fan of a signature on the front, it seems to take away from the painting in my mind.
It is convenient for the viewer to know who painted it.
I'm leaning towards having my Initials on the front, and signed on the back with the month and year finished.
One BIG reason for me not signing the front, is that I need a LOT more practice signing my name with a paint brush. It defiantly would take away from the painting. Even my mark on the front is no where near my mark when I draw. Im sure that will come with practice.
Paints - I really can not give an opinion on paints or brushes yet. I'm new at this and really have not settled on what I like.
Can't wait to do another!
